what dose everyone think of the polaris:confused:

I believe I may be the only one that still likes Polaris sleds - in the world! Most on this site love to bash Polaris, not speaking for everyone, however this is what I get the sense of... there are good years and bad years for Polaris... it is a preference of riding style and comfort, whatever you are most comfortable with is the machine that you will root for.:d

by far the best company out there, their chassis are good, the 900 and 755 were shitty and the 08/09 800s were shitty but there is a fix for it that hopefully work.

If your looking at a 600 polaris wont let you down, or a 2010 800

I have an 04 600 RMK Vertical Edge 144 track and love it. I just started riding last year and find it is very versatile. It has been reliable and now has 1100 miles on it.

Like stated above, there are good years and bad years. Every company has had them, and is having them right now im sure. It boils down to personal preference, and dealer relationship. Whats good for one, is not always good for another!

I've only owned polaris sleds and at this time will only buy polaris, i've had a couple of blown engines but i like the rebuild part. My new dragon has really impressed me and i don't think that i could ride anything else. I love it and would suggest one to anyone.

no offense to anyone but , i HATE polaris! my neighbor had a 98 polaris indy 500 i think , it has been in the shop at least 100 times last season and everytime it went in it came back the excact same way! and my friend has a 80's polaris indy 400 and he spends more time working on it then riding it one day i was riding my phazer and i saw him on the lake with the hood open i pulled up and asked him "what do u need?" and he said "a new sled!" anyway i love yamaha and wont ever buy polaris.

I have an 06 900 and a 09 800 dragon both sleds have been awesome, The 900 had to have the recalls, and polaris did everyone, my dragon was everything I thought it should be, and no motor problems. I ride in the mountains with sledhead and even though we have had a few problems I have see others with there misfortunes. When there broke down there all junk but when your standing on the running boards with the throttle clamped, and it seems like it don't want to quit and I got a smile on my face 1 mile wide and 6 miles deep I'll take my poo's everyday. :d:d

I blew the top end on my rev last may in revy on the second day of three day ride. I rented a dragon 800 from powder pete and had a great time on it. It took a few hours to get used to it coming from my rev but once i got the hang of it, it was great. usually rentals are dialed down and it would only pull 7600-7700 rpm on steep climbs it still ripped. Set up properly and i think it would be an animal.

Well:), I would have to agree with Clifford. I got a 05-900 166 love the sled. And I got it in 2006 after all the updates were done. Had a couple of issues; Had to drag it up off Turtle lake one time for about 1/4 mile 2 feet at a time. Hit the gas, burp and die. Sled would pull like a dam and then hit a bump and power out like shortage of fuel. But found out it was the SLP Can baffle broke loose in side. The only greaf on that was we had another sled their that could have taken the can off and drove it out.:( But was good for loosing a few pounds doing it this way. Then had about 3500 miles then bang:eek: broken crank:rant:, right beside the trail before Boulder Cabin Revy. Well Red Cliffy hooked me up and dragged me down to the parking lot. Brought back to Motion Motor Sports in Bonnyville AB. 2 weeks later picked up new crank, updated 06 pistons, motor mounts, belt and changed out intake boots. Well thought $ would be HIGH  Sledhead cost ZERO Polaris picked up full cost. So I would have to say Polaris is the #1 for me.:d This would be about #9 POO for Me. Soon as I sell my 05M6, I will be getting a D8 and still be keeping my 900. It will be getting a few extras additions on it this year. But that will be a low volume can't let Cliffy know the add on's.:p

The 05/06 900's had there problem's & they are HEAVY, if you have some time & money look for a 08 700, good power, even if you are a 200 ish pound guy. Be a little more wary about the 08 800's, had some problem's but nothing like the 07 rev 800's. If you are looking for something in the 1998 to 2004 range the 700's were very reliable as were the 800's. JMO & hope it helps. :)

I have had great luck with my 02 800 RMK. I have personally put 2100 miles on it and not a single problem, totally impressed with the reliability and the fun factor is there too... I got no complaints, I just hope the 900 I bought will be half as good as my 800 has been:D

Owned 5 polaris sleds. Won't ride anything different. At present have a 06 700 RMK and a 08 700RMK.
