I'm looking to install a tethered shut off on my 2002 SX Viper 700. I'm told to just wire it into the same wires as the shut off on the handle bars but I don't think that would shut the key off (if that makes sense) so, should i splice into ignition wires? if so, does anyone know which wire?

Basically it’s a rollover valve with a tether. The rollover valve will engage when tether is pulled. It will also kill the engine. This system will allow you to roll the sled over without any oil leaking out (tether pulled, key on). I have it on all three of my Yamaha's and a total of 6 Yamahas. Great system and no cutting of any wires.

None of which is applicable to a 2002 SX Viper 2 stroke.

Hahaha you guys are completely correct. Had 2012 in my head.
Been a long day of smoking a brisket with little sleep.
Scrub 1, sorry...gave you bad info.
But for what it’s worth, the tethers for those plug and plays are on the key, not the kill switch.

Just check if your current kill switch is normally open or normally closed to run. If Open then parallel wire to it and if closed series wire into the circuit. Make sure your tether is the same, N/O or N/C as your kill switch too.
