Hey just wondering if anyone on here lives in the Fraser valley area (Abbotsford, mission, chilliwack etc)?
I am currently in saskatoon but am considering moving to a job in Abbotsford and was wanting any information from people they would think is relevant or beneficial that I could gather as what I have now is limited.

expensive, busy, crowded and smells. Real nice when the sun shines.

Drugs are readily available. Try hard to stay away from that garbage. Seen quite a few new residents do it "just once."

Abbotsford used to be s beautiful place, about 35 years ago ...
Now it is a different culture , if you catch my drift ....

I have never seen one with 22 families in it, 7, 8 or 9 Families yes, but not 22!

I have lived in Abbotsford all my life and have been farming most my life and yes housing prices are ridiculous and the fact that all I see are these huge mansions being built around me just tells me what is happening !! Just pushing all the Caucasian families that live on there own with one family in a house out of the market ! Who the heck is goin buy a 10000 square foot home and be able to afford it !

Well all of what you guys have said was also echoed by some other people I talked to and I decided to pass on the job and going to try and look in the Kamloops area in the future. That seems more like somewhere I'd like to try. Saskatchewan has nice lakes for the summer too so I can easily stay here for a while longer still.

There are a lot of amazing places in that area, too bad people only see what they feel is negative. Lots of biased and prejudice opinion's on BS.
If your an out door's type, its extremely hard to beat the beauty of the coastal mountain, you got the Golden Ears and Baker at your back door. Fishing, you will not find excess to better fishing in BC, from lakes to rivers to ocean. From the Fraser valley your also centralized to some of the best sledding in the entire province of BC. Pemberton ice fields along the coast to the Coquihalla just east of Hope.
The only real negative about the area is traffic and home prices...DEPENDING on your location. If your smart you do your home work and one can work around these issues.
As for different ethnic groups living there..............F'N GET REAL, they are people. But from certain individual's found on S&M, comments like that doesn't surprise me

As for Kamloops, it's ugly LOL in comparison. Kamloops is good in its own way, it has bad and good things like anywhere else.
If you have ethnic issues and are prejudice.....don't go there either LOL.

As I and many others really have no idea what we value in a place to reside & raise a family .....

Any place is what a person makes it. The OP was looking for some information and I think from his last post he was able to make a decision.

And there goes your opinion once again............"Kamloops is ugly!" Really? Seems quite a few people like that area also.

Kamloops area is awesome, I lived all over BC before moving to Alberta in 2001, if/when I move back it will likely be around Kamloops
