far from real common. i dont know anyone with a damaged bulkhead. you would think at least one of them would have failed in the hundreds of g4s ive dealt with. how about my friends rental company that sends 10 sleds out on the daily to be ridden like a rental. regular rigors of riding does not include smashing rocks sorry

At least Poo got the design right and the a arms fail first, not the bulk head.
Not saying hits wont cause failure, just doo got it wrong on what fails.
We are clearly never going to agee........just find it amazing how you have not seen a failure and there are so many.

When you ride open meadows and trail riding you wont likely hit as much as when you ride the trees and sidehill cliffs. Maxwell should up his riding game and ride with the serious riders who really work their sleds to their limit. Then he will see the failures.

The people i ride with would have you and that cute little axys heading back to the truck with your tail between your legs.

throwing some facts out there:
Vinnie's rentals in Valemount.... 8 g4's and no bulkhead or belt issues
SnowPeak Rentals in Golden..... 6 g4's and no bulkhead or belt issues and some approaching 1000kms - I rented one, and it was rolled several times, and beat on a stump ;) (my kid) and no damage
Talked to the service manager at one of the large BRP dealers in town, and of the 100's of g4's they sold, 1 bulkhead(impacted) and he knew of 2 belt failures

I'd have to say Maxwell is credible in that fact..... jus sayin

I actually will agree with maxwell on this one. On performance right from the dealer, the 850 is a ways ahead. However, you have to spend the most with the Doo. If we are spending the same amount on the sleds i think the gap closes a fair bit. A pipe, track and clutching on an Axys and there really isn't that mush of a performance difference, and costs really close to the same amount. I have ridden several 850's and there traction and power are impressive, but i find there handling horrible, but thats just me. Now, a pipe on an Axys is a true 10hp and a clutch kit to harness the power along with a track that actually hooks up and there real close. I would go as far and say my Axys will be ahead by a length or 2. Next time I'm in Valmount, ill see if Maxwell wants to take my Axys for a ride. Food for thought anyways.

What was the 2017 sticker price of an Axys LE vs Gen 4 X? I didn't think they were that far apart... a pipe, track and clutch kit is 2k no?

They can't be that bad? I've baby-sat some pretty bad riders before and have developed pretty good patience. It is true that pulling Doo skis all day does make me want to go back to the truck though.

We have had 3 bulkhead failures at our store and 2 were the same guy twice. We have had 2 complaints on belts at our store. One with a cord showing at 150 kms and the other fellow has had 5 belts destroyed and happens to be the same guy who has had the 2 bulkhead failures so I can imagine he isn't to happy. This is out of 80 units on the snow from our store. We service 1 rental operator out of our store ( Over The Top Rentals) and he tells us 0 belt issues and 0 bulkhead failures but has had 1 G4 wrote off to the point the customer bought the damaged unit from him. We have been relatively trouble free to date and hope it stays that way.

The way i look at it is the 850 X model is different boards, shocks, and handle bars with 4 yr warranty. correct me if im wrong. The polaris LE comes with a bunch of nice features that i didn't want to pay for. The Doo's KTB shocks arent the greatest and would be comparable to the stock walker evans. SO, i bought an in season 163 2.6 pull start for 13K out the door with 3 yr warranty. I know from a few guys that have paid around the 16K out the door for a Doo 850 163 X 3". So a track, pipe and clutching is less than 3K. Again not real apples to apples as the X has a powder coated tunnel, i put a wrap on mine, so another $500 there. So im almost at 16K now for my Axys which is close to the new Doo. I know Maxwell gets a great deal as his family members all get new sleds every year, so this wont apply to him.. but i think it does to the majority of other Doo owners. I actually rode with Maxwell in November before i had the clutching and track but just a pipe, and he did say that he thought it sounded like it was running strong. Either way the Doo is a wicked sled that does seem to have a few issues. The Axys so far.... has been pretty reliable. If i could get use to the Doo's weird ass steering i might by one some day. But for now i have 2 years left on my warranty so ill have it for that long at least. We will have to see what Cat and Poo do for 2108 to catch up!!!

It must be either dealer set-up problems with the belts? bulkheads could be a serial # thing and a dealer is getting the same serial # batch? Very strange how there are a few out there, but over 95% are trouble free(might even be higher %?)

Hard to tell on a percentage as not everyone is on social media? Dealers should know where their shop's stand. I still think this will be a serial number thing. If it was poor pdi then some dealers should have extremely high percentages of failure. We do know that our 2 riders are both revy riders and ride extremely hard in the trees.

Cause theyre just stuck all the time , or always dicking with clutching or tuning, or not wanting yo leave the meadows , or are they just an annoying whiny bunch ? Must suck to ride with them , get some new riding buddies

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Heard the sled club is turning around g4's at the booth. From what I'm told there has been too much belt chunks and aluminum shards left on the ground. In addition, my buddy's friend who rides with a group of 5 g4's says the volume and intensity of swear words is harming the ecosystem.

The serial number thing could account for the first bulkhead, but not the replacement tho, agreed? Unless there's something else tweaked that the bulkhead bolts to, causing the issues....?

Just thinking out loud here...
