I am sorry to say that report truly is not accurate.

Most of the statements are of cuff with no real basis in reality it has all the marks of a hater.

If you make comments they should be somewhat closely based in reality to be taken seriously.

The G4 is superior to the XM in all aspects.

By the looks of it you build yourself a sled that suits your unusual likes, good for you keep riding what you like .

it is not what 99% or riders are looking for.

I remember my first ride on a prototype REV way back in 2003.....in seconds I hated the way it felt compared to my 2000 mxz 700. Handed it back to the dealer and politely said "not for me". Fast forward to 2006 and I bought a new renegade 800. Hands down better machine once you take time to grow accustomed to it than the old zx chassis. Judging by my own experience on the renegade, sale success and every manufacturer adopting rider forward chassis design I would say my initial thoughts of the Rev were in error. It takes time to appreciate change......unless your Fred of course (that's a friendly jab is all) :d

99% of rider's ride cookie cutter's. Ever stop by a cabin, especially at Boulder Mtn.... LOL.....every sled is the same, unless you call a wrap and a " can" different.
I have nothing against the G4, i don't own one and wouldn't spend the money on one just to be another cookie cutter rider.
I don't necessarily agree with Fredw in most cases but i do respect his opinions simply because he has all way's stepped out of the cookie cutter box. So yes he is unusual, compared to the general crowd.
Personally i don't take credibility of those who are bedazzled by a new product and are too young or too new at the sport to have enough experience to actually know what they are talking about. At least Fredw been around the block a while, even though i don't all ways agree.

Hey Doo-tards, He's talking about you guys. LOL. They could step back to the 06 Rev chassis next year and maxwell and a bunch of you tards would all buy one and rant and rave that it's the bomb, oh and customize it fully, well a wrap for sure.
Tough year for a lot of guys, too bad , hate to see guys so disappointed in such a big purchase, and IMO even worse when you've got so many guys struggling , and the same regulars yip ping about how fantastic they are as is, living in denial, who really are not helping the situation for the bunch of G4 owners who obviously need support.

Well being a new doo/850 owner I found it hard to give a solid opinion on this new sled I have, I have rode Polaris sleds for 20 years so I was a little bias going into this but I tried! I also went from a boosted sled with bakers skid, 36" front end, etc! (13 Pro). First 2 days on the G4 I wanted to go home and put it on kijiji. By the 4th day out I was getting use to the sled and learned to not over compensate, in the trees the thing is a weapon for a stock sled out of the create, big climbs in deep snow it needed suspension set up big time. I haven't really owned a sled yet that couldn't use a little mod in set up, so I didn't expect this sled to be any different. My biggest down fall with this sled is the $4500 bill to replace the bulkhead and a few more things! Yes I hit a rock under the pow, yes I expect something to break, but not a total destruction of the bulkhead and modules, etc! Yes a a-arm, shock, spindle maybe, but it is what it is now and sled is being repaired, and I will be out getting more use to it next weekend!! So I do think anyone who gets a few days on the 850 will learn to like it! And I thing a little boost and suspension for this sled will make it a all around weapon in the hills and backcountry! Just my two cents worth! Lol!

i rode a G4 this year, its an improvement and i really like it, but by no means is it the game changer the xm was coming from that water buffalo of an XP. The G4 doesnt make me think i made a huge mistake not snow checking one like the XM did when it first came out and this is before all the problems starting coming out. Will spend some more time riding one this weekend, but i honestly don't think ill be snow checking one until 2019. Doo will only release BNG and fixes in 2018.

Cheers

limiter sucked up... people seriously still do this, pretty 90's logic for suspension tuning.

I'ed be willing to bet that is an oversight on his part but i could be wrong here. I completely agree you would never pull up the limiter on any sled to pull climb's...stock sled that is. It just doesn't have the power to work and collapse's the rear scissor in most cases. But a turbo does. But the way he wrote his review it sounded like he tried in multiple positions and that would sound to me like the rear spring's are too weak. Causing too much ski lift and making the sled ride its tail thus the lost of good control.

So Fred doesn't like it because it actually handles and doesn't stay planted enough to just stand on it and poke climbs. Here's a sled from doo with a chassis that is finally very competitive and Mike doesn't like it because it's too cookie cutter. You guys crack me up.

My G4 doesn't wheelie at all. The 163 T3 I had was way worse for ski lift. G4 handles great and doesn't wash out like the T3.

I really liked the handling of my 850 and the response is like right now!
Just need to run it more than the 1.5 days when I killed it............it committed suicide.

And throwing out of the box boost on any 2 stroke isn't cookie cutter? Because what really sets apart a new sled from any other new sled? I see just as many of those sitting around the cabin and in your own thread "What new iron em i worthy of" puts it quite simply in black and white:

So sell me on a Doo, why should Lund buy a Doo?
Same goes for Cat guys and Yamaha.
Should i stick with the 4stroke Sidewinder?
Should i go with a Cat?
Help me out here.

If %99 of riders are riding cookie cutters, does it mean the sled is bad? Or does it mean %99 of the riders are satisfied with how the new sleds are out of the box? Sure maybe I am too new to mountain sledding but not to sledding over all. I do not recall in the 80's and 90's having out of the box 163"+ tracks with 3" lugs and 150+ hop with fuel injection and 3 year warranties. That does sound pretty bedazzling yet you were interested in those cookie cutter sleds, or am I wrong? Should the manufacturer try to achieve the wish lists of %99 of the riders or the %1 who want something different?

Are you just getting cranky? Maybe karebear needs to give you a honey doo list. :)

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with Fred. He has an opinion but yours has been a little contradicting. Sure you are able to change it though. Nothing wrong with that lol
