'96 Puma 340 Tether

I'd like to put a tether on this sled but my local dealer doesn't quite seem able to help me order one.
Apparently they need to know if the ignition is normally "open" or normally "closed" before they can order me a Kimpex tether switch.
I said "You're the Cat dealer, how the he** should I know?"
Apparently they are unable to find this out for me and I could load the machine and bring it in for a mechanic to check with his OHM meter.

Soooo, does anybody here know what tether I need or if my system is normally "open" or "closed"?
I didn't realize this would be so hard....

Arctic Cat used a normally closed ignition untill 1997 ish and then went to normally open but i cant say that applied to all models. Its a safe bet yours is closed but if you like a easy check is start it up and get it warm so it starts easy and un plug the harness to your ignition or kill switch then try to start the unit if it wont start you have a closed system. If you have the tool kit and in it have a small wire with a rope on it for emergency it is also a closed system

Thanks! I'll check the tool kit again but I don't recall any wire with a rope?
What/ how does that work?

the square kill switch button (the red knob) is normally closed

and a round button(the red knob) kill switch is normally open

What/ how does that work?

It's a bypass for the throttle/kill switch to get home with in a emergency. You un plug the switch and plug in the wire to make a closed circuit so it will run. if you have a manual it will be in there.
