I had a similar problem on my Grizz and it turned out to be a bent shift fork. It most likely got bent from giving it a little gas to help it engage instead of just rocking the unit/steering until it clicked in. On the grizz this shift fork is part of the diff housing and can not be bought seperately - hopefully that not the case on the Kodiaks. If that's your problem, the shift fork can be straightened, but it will likely be more suseptable to bending again. I took my machine to Rapid Revolutions and Kevin was able to fix mine and also did some sort of shim mod to help prevent it from happening as easily again.
