Stretching my 2008 from 154 to 163, any recommendations on gearing and clutching change ups? Currently running stock gears and clutching.
Thanks 330 AC

Stock gearing is 21/45 for 146 and 154
Stock gearing is 21/49 for 163
Some guys are going to a 20tooth top gear and they say it gives ya a little more bottom end. The stock 163 gearing worked fine on my sled i just geared it down when i went to the 3 inch track. Are you running the stock track or 2.5inch? If you want clutching I reccomend roosterbuilt, that is the kit I run very happy with it he is the XP mountain clutching expert.:d If you want a 49 tooth bottom gear I could sell you mine it only has 400 miles on it. PM if you are interested.

I run 20/49 gearing on a 163 / havent run the rooster built clutching - but I do recommend Joeys clutch kits - have run them on a few sleds and very happy with the performance over stock setup :)

if you have 21:45 gearing as stock then can go to the 19:45 gear and that will be equivalent as the 21:49 on the 163

19:45 = 2.36 @ 74.6mph
21:49 = 2.33 @ 75.8mph

I went to 19/49 and a DJ clutch kit, seems good never lost any top speed and it isn't near as boggy feeling. In the deep snow from a stop it is way better, doesn't feel as if the belt is slipping.
