The stock boards on the XP are not great, too small holes, traction nubs are worthless, very easily bent. I struggle with keeping traction while standing on a block of ice, who wouldn't? So I put on a set of Feethookers. First couple days I used them it was cold with several inches of new sticky...
I'm so excited for this film, knowing the quality of work Shaun is doing it will be amazing! Of course also because all of the women are pushing hard and riding hard to put it together! It's not going to just be a women's film, I'm stoked to see an aggressive backcountry film of riding that many...
Looking forward to the rest of the season filming and riding with some talented women! And to getting some great footage, Shaun does an amazing job, as does Zach!!!
Thanks guys!
I bought a 50th sled this year, has about 900 miles on it now. It's holding up pretty well. Tunnel is pretty good, running boards are just worn off on the ridges and sharp spots. I bent the running boards somehow?? and a couple flakes chipped off right at the bend. That seems to do way more...
I put it back on, never really thought about leaving it off..... I did the jackshaft thing a few times, after dropping the gear and having to pull the chaincase (didn't have the tool- using a socket to hold it), I went with Doodoctor's setup. Works awesome, and he does really nice work. No more...
I put in an RK Tek 860 this year, in my 09 XP 154. I have a 14:1 head, and run 3 gallons avgas per tank. I have it jetted about perfectly for the lowest elevation we ride, which is 5K. And it screams, pulls very hard and has a ton of torque on the bottom end, which I love coming off a 600 SDI. I...
Ya, that filter is garbage. I took the plastic frame off, stretched a piece of good pre filter over it and glued it around the edges to make it completely sealed up with pre filter material. Took the material off the foam and put the foam back in, with the frame w/material over it. Also glued a...
Don't use those circlips when you get your MCB pistons. And don't install them opening up as in the instructions, opening down. Lots of those circlips failing. OEM circlips are the way to go, or maybe Wiseco circlips.

Maybe some people just wish they could do what you do....
It is great! I see a lot of other people bragging and going on about how great their sponsors are... Yes, they are great and supportive and really stepping up for women riders, and we all appreciate it! Yet when you commend...
Umm... I don't think that's what it's about. Emilie has been an inspiration for a lot of women, she has done a lot to help further the sport for women, and to have a woman added to the Polaris team is huge. Part of being sponsored and having the support of these companies, such as Polaris or...
Isn't it funny how people who are knowledgeable and honestly stand behind their products always have a list of other mechanics who don't like them??
Joe, my rear PTO mount was torn half way around. I was getting a deep half circle groove in the frame from my ring gear. Took off that mount and it was bad, lots of vibration visible from that mount when sled was running. Dealer keeps trying to tell me "it's supposed to do that, no big deal, we...
If you're looking for a decent sized pack that's not huge, I'd say HMK. I have used it for 3 years now and it has held up awesome. No rips, holes or tears, it still looks great. And I'm one of those people who is always in and under trees, lots of chances for it to rip. They use a heavy canvas...
Got a roll of pet screen (seems to be exactly the same as vent material) at the hardware store for $17. It's several feet long, I'm sure I'll find some other uses for it.
