I walked into registries with the NVIS, and the plate from my XR 650L, and asked to have it transferred to the 450X. you will need an out of province inspection to do it legally, the honda dealer in Fairview told me if I had it inspected and approved by them I would be able to plate it. I think the girl at the registry office didn't know what she was doin' and gave me the plate. The OHV designation is now in the serial numbers on machines newer than '05, and is flagged automatically by the computer. buddies have taken their old XR 400's and just went in and asked for a street plate and got one no problem...go figure. go to a small town registries, and pick the youngest person at the counter....lol. good luck
