I have an older fifth wheel trailer and the roof is leaking at joints and around the roof vents. What kind of products are people using to repair. Anyone linex the roof of there trailer. Trailer is older with a tin roof. Thanks

there is a sealer I always used on the old tin roof on my motorhome, I think it was some kind of zinc stuff. stays flexible, lasts for a few years before you have to do it again. I'll look and see if I have some still around and get a name

Dicor lap sealant. Goes in your caulking gun.

go to an RV place and they sell a sealant which you spray on and dries to a rubberized compound. I think it is called Stop Leak. Worked well for me on an older trailer we used to have. Best way to fix though it to take the vents out and reseal properly. Stop Leak is a lazy man's way but worked

go to rona or hd they have a clear rubber roof sealer i used that on the 5er this spring, worked great and dries to a flexable coating, it was also on a metal roof like yours. put it on with a puddy knife or trowel after you clean with soap and water

I bought some stuff from Woodys, its white stays flexable. Im sure all RV places would have it. Line X your roof would probaly cost you about $5000.00+

Ya the Rv places should have the right stuff.
The stuff I have is epoxy seal for Rv's and is silver to reflect the sun just Luke the tin..

Bought a gallon on White Knight RV roof sealer last week at Crappy Tire for $40. It is the white stuff that stays flexible and usually much cheaper than the RV store. They also sell smaller cans and spray as well. See link below:

Proper joint sealant for RV's is Dicor self-leveling sealant. You should clean the old stuff out first. Don't use silicone. For a permanent fix, use Eternabond tape on the joints. This stuff lasts forever and will not leak.

Resisto makes a few different membranes. The one I'm using is a multi purpose aluminum membrane.

Eternabond is the way to go if you want a long-term fix. Have to get ALL of the old sealant off first if it's silicon, Eternabond won't stick to that. Not cheap and more labour-intensive, but you get what you pay for. Ft Sask Home Hardware has the 4" x 50' rolls for around $90, might only have it in grey though. Outback RV wants $140 for the same thing.
