Help with drilling large rivets

Anyone have any ideas on how to drill out 17 year old rusted control arm rivets on a chevy silverado?

So far I got one out, but it took a year and a bit (Just kidding, an hour or 2 with 3 mechanics help)

Would penetrating oil help? Something like that?

does your dad not do that kinda stuff for a living? wtf. lol
when i did mine i ground the heads down flush with the control arm and then hammered them out with a good air hammer, need a good one a snap on or a mac something with alot of bang power. make sure that the control arm is secure as well so it will not move when you hit the rivet. try something like a impact socket over the other side of the rivet for it to go into. good luck.

Finally got it out.

Yea he was making me do it my self, what a difficult time. I just drilled them out a couple times then used an air hammer and pounded them out.

haha takes alot of cursing

the last set we grinded them down flush then tapped em out with a punch.... by tapped of course i mean swinging for the stars

I wasn't looking for an "easy(lazy)" way to doo them. I was getting suggestions on what other people had done. It sucked. Alot.

easiest way to do them i found was the same way your dad did them just now:d:d:d:d lol j/k
other than that get new lower control arms complete with ball joints in them.
