Made a ski rack a few years back. I know there will be a ton of people on here saying to just buy a Cheetah rack but I made this one for about 40 bucks as opposed to 350 for the Cheetah. It works just as good and is as strong and fast as any commercial rack on the market.

That being said .. I do own a CFR rack (high quality product for sure) and have had some EPIC days skiing off the sled.

We went to where Big Red Cats operate after they closed for the season and it had dumped 5 days in a row.. It was just us there and I don't remember the last time my face actually hurt from smiling so much. And the rack itself allows you to carry extra extra gas, for those epic sled days.. or a tripod, or more beer, or whatever you are into.

I'd never say no to a quality rack.

Bingo. A buddy of mine bought a cheetah rack, broke the damned thing first day out. Needless to say, he was unimpressed.

If you want to spend the money, use a Knight Rider, if you want to go cheap, use falling wedges (Cheater factory racing rack). Take two wedges, cut the top off both, wedge the top between the two to spread out the wedges, drill two holes (I drilled one in mine, they rotate frustratingly) and bolt the sucker to the sled, get some ankle straps, bolt one to the top of each wedge (Ankle strap one side, ratchet ladder the other) and you have 1/4 of your rack done. You need two wedge combos per side, for a total of four.

Ill put up a photo when I get back from work, provided my memory works.

Thanks to the contributors.

Not trying to stir the pot or anything, but I didnt want links to bajillion dollar racks (obviously not a bajillion) I want to stir my creative side this summer, and wanted a kick start from others ideas. I'm making it cause I'll obviously use it, been sledding for 10ish years and snowboarding the same, and always wanted to bring my snowboard up.

Why would I buy something that seems relatively easy to make.

Thanks anyways I guess.
