What works the best for polishing a tunnel?

Make sure your sled is clean before you start. My tunnel was polished by previous owner with auto sol. I tried to short cut the process this yr and now have swirl marks. I touched it up by hand for approx 8 hrs. It is possible the swirls were there from the previous owner but I feel it is my fault for not washing it before hand.
