What You Need to Know when Riding in Blue River

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN SNOWMOBILING IN BLUE RIVER:

  • Please use DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS, Finn Creek - 22 km's south of Blue River or Redsands(Parberry) - 2 km's north of Blue River at the River Safari. 9 public riding areas can be accessed from these 2 staging areas.

  • Trails are groomed every 100 paid riders/trail, if you skip or jump trail booths we can not accurately keep track of rider numbers delaying in the trail systems being groomed.

  • SALMON LAKE, GROUNDHOG EAST & WEST, FOAM, HOLY GRAIL, BIG BLUE, PARADISE, HORSESHOE & REDSANDS(PARBERRY) ARE ALL AREAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

  • Access to all riding areas are within Sensitive Mountain Caribou habitat, so YOU MUST STAY ON DESIGNATED TRAILS until riding areas are reached.

  • Once in a the riding area watch for wildlife closure signs, these yellow signs mark the area boundaries, PLEASE RESPECT THEM!

  • Make every effort to research an area before riding there, INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND AT THE TRAIL HEAD BOOTHS.

  • If wildlife is encountered, DO NOT APPROACH, stay on your snowmobile and allow the animal the chance to move away.

  • Operating snowmobiles on public roadways or in Ditches is ILLEGAL, Groomed trails are provided for your Safety.

  • Understand and Respect that there are other Backcountry users sharing the rights to some areas (FOAM), Please Respect their space and OBEY boundary signs, FAILURE TO RESPECT THE BOUNDARIES WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PUBLIC USE to the area.

  • PACK OUT WHAT YOU PACK IN!

  • BLUE RIVER'S SNOWMOBILE AREAS ARE BEING MONITORED FOR COMPLIANCE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS LEGISLATION IS SUBJECT TO PROSECUTION UNDER THE WILDLIFE ACT, AND CAN RESULT IN FINES, EQUIPMENT SEIZURES AND ULTIMATELY THE CLOSURE OF AREAS FOR EVERYONE.

BRPPS
- BLUE RIVER'S SNOWMOBILE CLUB IS A NON-PROFIT SOCIETY THAT IS RUN BY VOLUNTEERS, THE CLUB CONTINUES BATTLING TO KEEP THESE AREAS OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE. EVERY YEAR A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF RIDERS FEEL THEY CAN RIDE WHERE EVER THEY FEEL BREACHING BOUNDARIES AND RIDE INTO CLOSED WILDLIFE AREAS. THIS CREATES SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF VOLUNTEER TIME TO MEND BRIDGES WITH GOVERNMENT AND OTHER BACKCOUNTRY USERS. WITHOUT YOUR COMPLETE COMPLIANCE AND COOPERATION THESE AREAS WILL BE CLOSED.

THANKS ALL RIDERS WHO RESPECT THE RULES AND CONTRIBUTE BY FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE RULES.
