Let me tell you those things flat out rock we had the 1080's out over Christmas and I am impressed!!!

Sony, Canon, or JVC are all hi quality camcorder brands. you just have to decide what kind you need, hard drive or flash memory. All three make some nice small models that take excellent HD video.

I have a gopro helmet cam and a jvc waterproof hd picsio pocket cam camcorder, the camcorder is freeze proof to a light degree and I have never had and issues, under $200, hd, and may not give you the quality of a 6-700$ camera but if you're making videos for fun it's ideal,

I bought a Canon HF200 camcorder. It takes great HD home videos but Im extremely disappointed with the image stabilization. You practically need to have it on a tripod while zoomed in-thought my chimney smoker brother had shaky hands but I couldn't do any better! I'd recommend a SONY as I've seen some nice steady film from one of them....
