The attached article caught my eye. I had read about the Swiss research but it seems a bunch of moose smoochin Canucks are bringing this close to a commercial reality. If this really does work there is hope that one can extract CO2 from the air reducing greenhouse gases while making usable fuel at the same time.

Special challenge to Skegpro - How would one calculate MPG of 1 ton of converted CO2?

The number used when calculating the “cars off the road” figure is 4.7 tonnes per year of CO2 produced by the average vehicle and average driving. Not sure an exact figure for a truck but that gives you an idea.

I don't buy into the argument that CO2 emissions are a threat, but I have to wonder how much energy it takes to facilitate this ingenious process? If it ends up better than the ethanol plants, that then burn natural gas to dry the by-products, I'll be surprised.
