I recently bought a trx 450er (08) long story short the cases need to be split as i have no fifth gear and while riding it the engine oil migrated into the trans side and what oil was left in it is more brass than oil(im exaggerating abit but ya get the point )

my real question is seeing as id assume my bottom end is toast ive been looking at stroker cranks in particular a hotrods +3mm (shortrod as the bike has a new top end and because i also plan on stg2hotcams and eventually a big bore kit id like to keep to the same brand if possible for ballance and compatibility)

has anyone had any experience with stroking an07+ trx450 ive been hearing mixed opinions ,some people say they have worked great but alot of people on other sites have said these newer honda transmissions will not handle a stroker at all and act as if it will grenade the entire trans the first time you hit the throttle what i really want too know is has anyone done one and how did you like it because to be honest, if i need a bottom end id feel better about spending more money if i got more power ...

Never had any luck with hotrods and any family brand to it. The stroker crank if you are set on the hot rods I'd forsure get it balanced so you don't have vibration and abnormal piston wear. Hot rods cranks have costed me and I learnt my lesson from them go oem and slap a Carrillo rod on it or spend the money and go falcon. Best bang for buck is get your head ported from a reputable builder. ( racers edge. Daniel at outlaw innovations. Kenz cycle. Mmad) to name a few
