Honestly it surprises me as I am pretty sure the block is fine. The main didn't spin the bearings and subsequently didn't actually get hot. Toss a 5.3 rotating assembly in and call it a day!

Just picked up a new truck with a LC9 engine in it, the dealer said to let the oil life monitor system do its thing. I looked at him and said i'll do it way sooner than that for the first oil change. 3000kms changed the oil and it was blacker than some of the diesel oil i've changed. Lets hope the next one is a bit cleaner! I'm curious what my 4.3 looks like inside with regular oil changes and a leaking intake manifold gasket.
