"Figures released last year by the Canadian Institute for Health Information showed that from the mid-1990s to 2005, there was a 66% increase in hospitalizations for injuries related to off-road vehicles."

I would like to know how they come up with these stats for us??? One would think they must take into account the 150% increase in atv sales over the same period or doo they. A doctor in Rocky mountain House told me that they have seen close to the same increase in hospital emergencies over this same period at his hospital but also the amount of atver's riders in his area has tripled. Help me understand.

I agreed with most of the article. Don't agree with under 14 not being allowed to ride, however do agree with what Steve said about age and size appropiate machines. Don't agree with no passengers either, although passengers need to wear all the safety equipment as well.
