Factory cd player quit working, has anyone put in an aftermarket headunit that can still be controlled from the steering wheel controls on a Ford? Any particular brands of head units that might have this feature? Thought about getting the factory one repaired, but why not get something better..plus probably way cheaper as well..

Yes they do make a remote box that works for many aftermarket decks.

I have a Kenwood deck in my `03 Dodge and I know they added a box for the remotes on steering wheel to work.Cost about $100.00 extra.
I use Vibe car audio in Red Deer.

Ditto on Kenwood and Vibe...I have the steering wheel controls and On-star all operational on my 06 Chebby.
