At average Joe's at the last sud's night I heard mention of next years snowcheck being a 1000, Is this true? I tried doing a search, couldn't find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated, I'm thinking of trading in the Elan next year.

That is the rumor, I've seen mention of it in a few mag's saying that they may be able to get the 1000 in the XP chassis. Need something to run with the big Pussy's

Nothing is going to be leaked out until Jan or Feb of 08. They`ve just come out with the XP and wouldn`t want to have `07`s sitting.

I can't imagine, can you imagine rollin around with something 50lbs lighter....I'm pitching a tent just thinking about it.

According to Ski-doo.com ...
the 2005 Rt is like 529lbs with 162"( I find that hard to believe)40 litres of fuel(@1.5lbs per litre) and 3.7 litres of oil should add about 65lbs for a total of around 594,

the 2006 rt is 549 with the 151", and 554 with the 162"( a little easier to believe) add fuel and oil of about 65lbs for a total of 614 and 619 respectively. (The math seems wrong only 5lbs difference for 11" more?)

the XP 154" is supposed to be 439lbs is the number I think I heard, add 60 lbs fuel and oil(Guesstimate)couldn't find a spec on the tank size, so lets say 500lbs

The 06 1000 151" weighed 549lbs and the 06 800 151" weighed 478lbs for a difference of 71 lbs. Lets assume most of that is motor and additional metal in the chassis required to handle the additional power.

The 06 800 151" weighed 478lbs and the new 08 xp 154" weighs 439lbs, for a difference of 39lbs, or 8.2% lighter but the new Xp is also 3" Longer.

So to make a long and boring story even longer...can we assume a new Xp 1000 would be 71lbs heavier than an 800 for a total of 439+71= 510lbs
or 549lbs minus 8.2%(45lbs)=504lbs, Either way I would have to assume the BRP engineers goal would be to break the 500lb mark with a 1000cc motor and probably increase the horsepower above the 180hp level. This would give the XP 1000 a power to weight ratio near 2.7lbs per horsepower, compared to the Xp @ 439lbs with published stock dyno tests near 155.8hp for a power to weight ratio of 2.8lbs per hp.

Either way I would probably buy one.....still want to ride an XP 154" see what it rides like....

The above published numbers are all from sources found on the internet....You all know everthing on the internet is TRUE!:D

a 1000 in an XP chassis? Does'nt BRP already have their hands full of problems with an 800 in this light weight chassis? They had better get their scheet together if they want to keep the BRP faithful happy

Here's the latest rumor, it's starting to heat up, people saying they will be at dealers in the next week!
Don`t believe too much on those other sites, there is so much BS`ing and Crap disturbing going on that I have a hard time trusting them. I`m not saying that there isn`t or is a XP 1000 for next year...I just wouldn`t get to excited until you see one in person.

Oh come on guys, can't a guy have a little dream...where an Rt and An XP get together and somehow a light weight torque monster is born. I'd even settle for a factory turbo four stroke that weighed under 500 lbs. :beerchug:
