Aside from the suspension, from the '15 to the '16 Viper?
I talked to a dealer, and they said the 15 is the better engine, because the 16's will fail with more then 6lbs boost.

So, what do the S&M guys have to say? Which one is the better choice and why?

Issue with the connecting rods on the 2016's. Was a heat treatment issue from the supplier. Was a crap shoot which engines had the bad rods. Check out totallyamaha. Lots of good info about it

This is skidoo & mud forum, so likely wont get much help on here. Like nytro24 said, late built '16 has a not so boost friendly connecting rod. There is likely 50 pgs of info on ty4stroke about it. There isn't likely much difference between a '15 & '16 other than the newer front end. Can find early build '16 sleds with the older motor, have to look at engine to make sure.
