Some avy smart guys some avy research on Frisby Ridge..

We spent a few hours digging out a pit on the east face of Frisby Ridge. I made a video of the pack test. It's a little hard to see close up but interestingly enough the first shear plane was not exactly paralell to the surface. There is defenetely two PWL's that are apparant. We managed to get both to fail. The video shows both.. The pit was over 3.5m deep!.. What a hole we dug.. Hope this gets watched and is usefull..

I can't comment too harshly but I have taken an avy course and jumping from the top and sliding down the entire face isn't the best way to identify the shear planes. Not to say it didn't work or can't, but from the force of that jump, the snow is going to fail somewhere regardless.

Not saying bad, just saying not a sticky.
