Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
I am looking for suggestions for configuration of a parking lot/unloading area for 500 trucks with sleds and trailers.

What do you like about current unloading areas?

What is your biggest pet peave about parking/unloading?

What area has the best parking lot?

What you would you like to see?

Any and all suggestions welcome. Drawings and napkin sketches accepted.
Thanksalot

I have found that the random, helter skelter version of parking that is usually displayed at Clemina works the best. If people were the least bit organised,100 units could easily be parked in there .The way it's usually done, only about 50 fit,and half of them are blocked in and can't leave till dark. This keeps rider numbers a lot lower and leaves more powder for me.(I just used Clemina as an example. All staging areas at Mcbride and Valemount seem to have the same issue.)

You would need 300 acres to park 500 vehicles in the way everyone parks at most of the parking lots
Unless they have parking attendants

Any and all suggestions? Lot attendants for those who think they need to take up four spots and Beer cart girls (or guys if thats your thing, it is 2019 after all) at the end of the day to cruise the lot and hand out cold pops!

Usually a person there In the morning directing guys to spots works the best. I’ve seen to many times where a guy with a tiny triton trailer parks sideways in a area and takes up 4 spots that could of been used for bigger rigs. My favourite is when there is specific spots for guys with sled decks to park out of the way and never get blocked in.

Doesn't matter how many trucks are in the parking lot, I never seen anyone during the day anyways...

imo you will have a hard time getting everyone to park how you think it should go to get the most out of your parking lot and not block people in. possible put a few signs up where trailers park and where decks park, once you can get a few people parking the way it should be hopefully it will continue with most people. very hard to get everyone on board and especially when people try new areas and first time parking there.
