Hello, planning a trip to mountain sled along with 2 other couples this winter. Never been out to this area and likely would want a guided tour. Other than Alpine Country, are there any other place that would offer this along with a cabin rental for the 6 of us? Doesnt have to be Mcbride. We are travelling from Edmonton so any place towards the hills would do. The ladies are newbies and we are not looking for any crazy extereme sledding just something different from the field and trail riding we do locally. A full meal deal so to speak would be great. Thanks, John

If you are going to McBride, call Glen @ Spindrift Powersports he'll hook you up and make sure you are taken care of.

If you are going to Valemount, then you'll deal with Alpine Country Rentals.

Thanks. Which area of riding would be more newbie friendly? The ol'lady is kinda scared of my 07 Nytro and can barely handle her 500 indy. Looking for nice trails, and comfortable sleds for ladies and little off trail riding for the guys. Does Glen offer guided tours and whatnot? I'm mention a referal from Tyler G.

Also contact Curtis at VARDA. He really seems to be helpful. IMO, Climina in Valemont would be great for your newbies.

We rent sleds yes but dont do tours ourselves. But there is a tour company in town, Adrenaline tours. There are some really nice cabins at the base of lucielle mtn called cougar den cabins they are new/very nice cabins. They also have a hot tub and such and you can sled up the mtn right from the cabins. Feel free to call the shop or post here any questions you have and would more than happy to help you out or answer any of your questions.

Ive taken alot of newbees up the mountains and I would say renshaw is the easiesi for newbees with a long trail ride in and some open ares to play on to a little more extreme if u want hope u have fun. U will find some great peaple and some very helpful peaple in the mountains, plus everybody helps each other to make this such a great sport.

I'd have to agree with Renshaw being a great spot. The trail is longer, but a nice ride for a group not really in a hurry to get in the alpine looking for the more advanced stuff. When you get in to the cabin you can just tour along the valley at the bottom of Showoff Hill and poke around there for a day no problem. Lots of tree riding and meadows as well as some smaller hills right around the nice warm cabin.
