Well I finally got my Skinz float plate installed. I was a little edgy about drilling holes into a brand new machine but all went pretty well... The only thing was I didn't put the center screws in as it seems pretty sturdy without them and I didn't want to drill into the subframe as it sounds as though they are already a weak link on these sleds.
The float plate comes with a template to cut out a hole in the bottom of it to allow ice build up to come out but I wasn't convinced on the huge hole it wanted cut out so I just drilled a few 1 1/4" holes where the big hole was to be cut out to let out the water that builds up in there.
I also used big fat fender washers on the underside screws to make sure it didn't pull through...
I really like the blue it is a perfect match.
