Picked up a mint 2018 g4 175. I need to try it, but not sure the 175 is gonna be for me. Is there more to it than shortening the tunnel and throwing new running gear under it? Thought I remember something about the suspension mounting points being different?

Or would a guy be farther ahead to find a 154 tunnel from a wrecker? Should just bolt up the same from there?

Guessing the best answer is to sell it and buy a 154......but seems to be lots of 175s around. Any 154s seem way more expensive

after a season on my 175, not going back. These 175's are just ridiculous. The new area you can discover or terrain you can access is just unreal, and do it any condition as well.

In any event if you want to go shorter it will be a lot of work. going longer is easier.

new rear shock
change out rear suspension brackets
new rails
new track
will need a tunnel cut if its not a expert.

I doubt you could build a 154 out of a 175 for less $ than trading it out for 2018 154.

Plus that sounds like a lot of work.

But If you're looking for a project, id probably look for a shorter tunnel rather than cutting up the 175 tunnel.

It will be a lot of work. The rear drop brackets are different and the rear arm is as well.

I’d ride it dean. I think you will really like the 175, the one I rode was just a playful as a 165.

Yeah I'm for sure going to ride it a couple times. Have had couple g4 165s and found them pretty squirrelly. 175 might balance things out I guess. Might pick up a 154 2.5 for lower snow days

Ive rode lots with my buddie ray. He’s on 175 turbo. He smokes my 165. He’s done some crazy pulls with no practice run and just go. Same hill I have to hit 2-3 times to pull it. we are equal size guys. It’s crazy how a few inches on the ground makes such a big difference in the deep and climbing

175 is a 65+ machine. May as well say senior citizen edition on the side
If this thing ain't maxwell approved I gotta get rid of it. I want to be a real mountain rider

Any old guys want a mint g4 real cheap?

Geez......Thanx man. If I wasn't already feeling old enough. Now I just skipped right on up to 65 in one post.:rolleyes:
I liked my 175, was very forgiving and even when not boosted it built track speed faster than expected.
Really not much difference from 165 other than floats way better on the deep days.
