short blk./long block whats the diff????

grenaded my HO 800 DOO motor yesterday not sure the diff between short vs. long block heard two diff dealers say 2200.oo for either one?????? whats that all about???/

Short block should come completely assembled from cylinders down. You will have to use your own cylinders, pistons, head etc...

short block is basicly everything minus head, or electronics. and for a 800 they run about 1950.00 plus a 700 dollar core charge. so if they are telling you 2200 shop around.

Well I have only seen them ship them one way .... short and in this case you just have to use your heads ..... it's 1940.00 + 700.00 core you will get core back after they rip apart.... if there is somthing they can't use you get charged for things .... case,crank,rods...ect you should get 500.00 600.00 if you didn't bang it that bad...

I just put a shortblock in my 03 800, had to use my head, waterpump cover and oil injector, and stator came with everything else paid 1833.52 after tax from Riverside in St Albert. Martins was 2052.40 after tax.

if you want that 1 year warranty it must be installed by a dealer...
if you install it your self make sure you bleed the oil lines at start up
