Here are some of the photos of the two Penner trucks involved with the propane truck that closed the road near Jasper last week.

Brutal mess. The cab was basically ripped off the propane truck.

The Penner driver in the ditch was seriously injured and transferred to Edmonton via ambulance as weather to poor to get helo in.

Propane truck driver died instantly as cab was basically totally sheared off truck.

Second Penner truck hit other two trucks after initial crash and ended up in opposing ditch with not injuries....

HAZMAT had to be called because of leaking propane.

Sounds like the first Penner truck dodged left and the second went right, into the ditch.

The investigation has revealed a propane truck was traveling west bound, when it collided with two eastbound commercial tractor-trailer units. The collision with the first eastbound commercial tractor-trailer unit was on the passenger side in a head-on, sideswipe type collision. The propane truck then continued east, colliding head-on with a second commercial tractor-trailer unit.

The driver of the propane truck, Larry BASSARABA, 59 years of age, from Valemount, B.C., sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the first commercial tractor-trailer unit sustained only minor injuries, was treated in Jasper and was released. The driver of the second commercial tractor-trailer unit sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, where he remains in critical condition.

just one of the many semi truck/trailers seen in the ditch over the last week. not sure if any of other crashes had injuries, but i've never seen so many flipped, ripped, backwards and destroyed in such a small timeframe. my condolences to the familes and others affected by these crashes.

Our prayers also go out to the families involved, it was a terrible mess. We must be so careful this time of year especially, with such severe weather conditions.
