As many of you probably know, on June 22, 2012 vandals set fire to the Beaver River Trestle, rendering the historic train trestle unusable and closing a section of the Iron Horse Trail. A competition has been entered for the Aviva Community Fund for funding to have the trestle restored - all that's needed is votes.

There are 3 qualifying rounds of voting before the final vote. This cause is now in the second qualifier after losing out in the first qualifier - many votes are still required to continue to the semi-finals. There are 4 days left before the voting deadline for the second qualifier and each voter can vote once per day.

Your votes each day would be greatly appreciated!

To clarify how this works:
- There are three qualifying rounds, each giving us a chance to make it to the semi finals. (We already LOST in the first qualifier and are now in the second.)
- If we score in the top 10 in any of the qualifying rounds we are automatically advanced to the semi-finals.
- If we do not make the top 10 in the current qualifying round, our votes will be zero'd and we will be given a chance in the next qualifying round.
- If we get voted 10th place or better in the semi-finals, it will be in the judges' hands from there.
- Judging is based on a number of factors, like votes received, community size, sustainability, etc.

Only 4 days left in the second qualifying round. We're still in 14th place and we need 10th place or better to be selected for the semi-finals. We can do it!!! Vote every day. TELL your friends to vote - use force if necessary. :)

We only need about 600 votes to overtake 10th place.

I'm in. Can't believe the azzholes who did that. That bridge was a great place to cross the river and play around.

Always loved seeing the crash marks on the side of the chain link fence from someone getting too close. Would be a scary drop!

We saw a nice jump in votes yesterday but sadly, it wasn't enough. The 10th place entry is now almost 800 votes ahead. It's looking like we may have to try again in the third qualifier. ...but that's no reason to stop trying in the second qualifier!
