Found some decent snow today up in the Christopher - Emma lakes region. Was only a few hundred yards from the groomed trail.

Was surprised to find that much, gonna have to go on a few more adventures View attachment 251557View attachment 251558
Those cat tails bring back many memories. Haven't ridden them for many, many years. I have to laugh at the memories of opening up the hood and seeing all the seeds that got sucked into the motor compartment.

Well we put 130 miles on yesterday going from Emma Lake over to Candle Lake and back, found some good snow in spots, there is a chitty ice layer in a lot of spots though.

Trails are in good shape, not a lot of people out yesterday for some reason, was a steady -6 all day.

Couple more coming up, we got another 5-6" of snow over the weekend, today and tomorrow's wind is gonna blow it around pretty good.

I'm on the Eastern side of the province and it's pretty darn deep here too! Who needs mountains when you can be out of gas in 55 miles here??
Hahaha. Finding the same problem, the ice crust is a biotch, but other than that best snow we've had in almost 10 years.

We needed it too after the dry summer.

Lots of snow, plowing my driveway this morning was pretty interesting.

Almost had to ride the snowmobile to work.

Hows the canwood rally anyone rode it before? We may head that way this weekdn
Been on it a few times over the years, mix of field riding, bush trails and old logging roads. Not sure what circuit they are running this year... I would assume up to the sturgeon river then maybe across to debden then back down.

South and east sides of the tree lines will have lots of snow, the drifts might be a bit firm though now. Some of the north sides won't be too bad depending on how much they are exposed to north/NW winds.

this is one of the routes they have done in the past. They might also go south of canwood through the pines.

Rode Tuesday between Carrot River and Hudson Bay. Did we luck out - managed to get on the bush trails after a full foot of fresh and ungroomed. Rode almost 60 miles like this. Found a few spots to dive off and geeze - it's definately been a few mountain trips since I've rode snow without a base like this. Grated I was riding a shorter track than I would out West, but trenches were in the 4-5ft deep range. Probed between 68-76" of snow up here, with a solid trail base of about 36-40"! These guys will be riding well into April considering the forecast has more snow in it.
