Santa's Toy Ride - Sunday Feb 8 - POSTPONED

POSTPONED TO LATER IN FEBRUARY (lack of snow)

We drove the trails & ditches (Feb 5) and have to postpone due to lack of snow
Will post a new date if we have more snow

Introduction
Capital Region Santa's Toy Ride will be held on Sunday February 8, 2009 organized by the Tri-County Snowmobile Club and open for all snowmobilers to participate. The TCSC has participated for many years with the ride and encourages all snowmobilers to participate in this event. Over the past years we have seen upwards of 100 sleds come out. Its a great excuse to get out and have some fun in a big group.

If you like bring a gift per machine (or per person which ever you like), they will be placed in the TCSC Registration Trailer. Toys and/or money donation are accepted and will be forwarded to Leduc Santa's Anonymous and Leduc Food Bank.

Santa's Ride:
The ride about 4-5 hour - 90km trip (under Special Permits with the Counties & RCMP) will be in the ditches from Parking lot #2, west on Hi-way 625 to Hi-way 21, south on Hi-way 21 to Hi-way 623 (Miquelon Lake road) then east to Centennial Park for Lunch and warm up Fire , then east though the Ministik Trail System.

Please bring a present for Santa's Anonymous and some food for the Food Bank they can be left at the registration Trailer or mount the Present on your sled and delivered it to Centennial Park at lunch time

10:00am - Staging Area: Parking Lot #2 (TWP Rd 504A - RR220) on west side of Ministik. (outhouses)
10:00am - Registration
11:00am - Ride Departs - ride ditches in single file to Centennial Park for a warm up fire
1:00pm - Lunch - Tri-County supplies a Weiner Roast and warm up fire at Centennial Park (Smokies / Wieners / Pop Chips/ etc)(outhouses)
1:30pm - Short ride back to Parking Lot #2 (.5 hour)
1:30pm - Long ride though the Ministik Snowmobile Trail System - all trails have been groomed both directions - and back to Parking Lot #2 (1.5 to 2 hours)
3:00pm - Parking Lot #2 Social.

All participants must complete registration before 10:45 at the Tri-County enclosed trailer, provide proof of sled registration and insurance and sign a waiver.
Please bring a letter of consent if you are not the legal guardian of an under aged child that is riding with you.

Notes
Mandatory - Insurance, Registration and Helmets
Drivers 16 years or older, proof of drivers/learners license, sled insurance and registration required.
ASA Trail pass is an asset
Our permits and other authorizations require us to leave as a group, stay in a group and return as a group
No one is to pass Rudolph except the marshals
“Look for the Tri-County enclosed trailer to Register”
Warm clothes/mitts/boots are a must.

is this still a go as of today?

We always make our judgment calls on Thursdays just to see what the weatherman can bring us...

So as of Feb 5 with no new snow in sight and the trails & ditches iced over from the rain we have postponed the ride to later in February

Hopefully we have another storm before the end of the season

we are getting some good snow now..lets keep our fingers crossed:)
