The original deal swapping Brule and a 4th for Smyth didn't, due to Brule's injury situation. If the Kings decided to buy out Brule's contract for the cap space, they couldn't with him injured. So they traded Colin Fraser and a 7th rounder.

much better deal imo. brule and smyth will be good together i thinks.
