in past years we launch the boats in fort mac and boat the atab river to fort chip it is about 5-6 hr ride there is a little river up there called the richerdson just before you enter lake athabaska. the river is hardly wider then your boat maybe 2 boats wide, we go about 2 miles up, and there is a camp we have set up. let me tell you the fishing is world class 8-10 lb walters all day long 20-30 lb jack. this up coming june we got 3 river boats going. you gotta go before the runoff hits becouse the mud form the atha b pushes up the richardson and fish don't bit. yes i agree river boating in north alberta is world class..
