Anyone put a 16" wide track in a s-chassis, I have to get rid of the in tunnel running board and drop bracket supports, Am thinking of going to a aftermarket tunnel support for the top front axle but don't know what to do about the drop rear unless I go thru the running board.

Itll be snug but i had the front of the skid reinforced on the outside of the tunnel and used the stock drop brackets with an alluminium plate extending another 3 inches.

I have done this in a 98 summit just a lot of grinding you should remove all brackets rerivet from inside to out. Also replace rear suspension brackets with after market ones mountain magic has them find some tunnel stiffners. Acouple of the chaincase mounting bolts also have to be ground abit. Al in al it was no problem.

I was just at Turple Bros in RD looking at the XP's on display and I think the rear brackets from them would work good and are only $27 apiece.

Well got started today, did a bit o grinding, drilling and riveting, slipped track in and should work great if I got all my holes exact. I ground down the chaincase bolt, steering post bractet bolts, some rivets and the ridges on the stock brackets. Moved stock drop bracket back. Just need to make up some reinforcment plates and rivet them on and make up some new bolt on drop brackets and be ready to go.
