I have had remote starters in my trucks since about 2000, and trust me.... You get what you pay for!!!!

I have a thread in here too, and going to try a Factory starter next week.

My brother inlaw has a top of the line Astro start that starts his truck at a max. of 200 feet(ish)
I have a low end compustar that will start mine from over a block away.I have installed many prostarts
and I wouldn't say they are junk.
If you have power door lock's on your 97 dodge I would assume they are reverse polarity.(require
relay's to hook up to remote start and cutting wires in kick panel)
Other than door lock's install on truck like that is easy.

Thanks for the replies guys...I have since decided I can use a small electric air compressor far more over a remote start for my old truck. LOL Any suggestions for that?
