If you have a boss seat from last year and need to recover it due to zipper failure than this may help you.

You have the option of sending the seat to be recovered (you pay freight both ways) or they will send you the cover to have an upholstery shop or yourself do the project - I did it myself.

The cover arrived about 2 weeks after I requested it.
Inside the box were Velcro strips, rivets and snaps along with some basic instructions. The seat cover was packed nicely and arrived unharmed.
I'd suggest that you take a bunch of photos at various angles to remember how the seat cover goes on...it's important later in the process.
It took me roughly 3.5 hours to complete the project start to finish.

Tools for the project were screwdriver to remove old staples, pliers, side-cutters, hammer and a stapler.

Like I said, take a bunch of photos of the seat for future reference and then start removing old staples.
Not hard work, just time consuming.

Here is a photo of the seat with the cover off followed by the seat upside-down with the new cover beside it and then the cover and seat side-by-side.

Slice the new cover over the old saddle - mine fit really well.
I started stapling at the front and then tightened it to the back and placed a few temporary staples in place. This part of the project works best with another person.

Then I started working my way down the one side making sure it had the same amount of material was available on the other side. As I got closer to the back I had to remove the first staples I put in as the seat positioning had changed.
With a bit of time and patients (and removing the odd staple to re-adjust the cover) the seat was complete.

Its a shame they are not admitting to using junk zippers on all new seats though.Boss is still charging everyone for shipping and new zippers(They call it an upgrade).Every seat I saw from last years batch fell apart. It is not the customers fault.

I can't argue that - they should have paid for all costs involved, however some is better than none.

I have a seat with the new zippers and it F@#$d up a zipper 1st ride. The weatherproofing crap on the zippers just jams up and then they are hooped and the zipper on the big pocket just split open. why do the zippers on my backpacks never fail but they cant get it right on a seat??

I run my finger behind the zipper when I open mine and it opens easily, takes the pressure off the zipper

Mine is a brand new this year seat, 4 rides on it, 2 zippers are broke, rubber seals are cracking and crumbling and the ballistic nylon fabric has all frayed and become wooly where my pants have rubbed on it. I dont dare use any of the (bazillion) pockets for fear of wrecking them. It sure is a nice looking seat but I am not impressed with the quality... Don't think I would buy another.

The one i had also broke a zipper and frayed etc. You have to keep on top of the fraying by burning it with a lighter as soon as you see it. With some care it worked OK. I too would not buy another however.
