I use to think the price of diesel was high in Alberta before me moved to this he!! hole. I only drive the truck for quick trips 2 twice a week because I can't afford to drive out here at the prices they want us to pay here. Thye last time I filled it was 1.17 a liter

Gas here in 100 mile is 111.9 and diesel is 113.9

Can anybody tell me why the price for diesel is so high in these provinces?

I know that we bring the oil out of the ground in western Canada, BUT, we do not have enough refineries in Western Canada for our consumption. Most of our diesel comes from the US. So if they have a shortage we pay.

I think that the last refinery built in Western Canada was well over 30 years ago.
