Polaris quad power loss

ive got a polaris 250 2 stroke and right when u start it up it runs awesome but get it real nice and warm and it runs worse hot in low then it did cold and high. any ideas im going on a ride sunday, and any help would be appreciated.

Does it have a lot of hours on it? If it is slowly loosing more and more power as it gets hotter it may need some new rings or possibly a cylinder bore and new piston/rings. It could be improper jetting...if what you are saying is that it runs different at different altitudes. Try doing a compression test when the engine is cold then do one when it is hot and see if there is a substantial difference. You could try cleaning your carb and air filter to see if that helps also.

thanks, it just got a new piston/rings, just as prevenatvie maintence. ill try the compression test tommorow. and clean the ch!t out of everything
