Just wondering if anyone knows about the size of chassis on these machines. Looking at a 550 fan cooled with 136 track for my 8 year old. Would the 340 or 440 be the same chassis with smaller Motor? Thanks

I believe it depends what years you are talking about, older Indy Trails were the same sled as an Indy 500. Both were 488 cc, trail was a fan and 500 was liquid. I believe that most Indy 400, 440, 550's are full size sleds, where as the Indy Lite and the later model Indy 340 are a smaller chassis all on their own. Hope that helped?

You would have to go with the 440. The 550's just came in the indy this year. the 340's are hard to come by. I had a 97 indy 440 trail back in the day. It was a great sled. Never let me down and ran great. good amount of power.

92 and onward you could get as efi version. Really simple to start. Indy lite chassis were smaller than the regular Indys. Indy lite comes in 340cc model only to my knowledge. 440cc and up were the regular chassis.

my buddy has a bb800xcr engine in a Indy lite chassis for sale if interested in finding that small chassis :)

we had my son run the 1980 Enticer 250 - stable, reliable, plenty of power.
