Have an2004 600 twin sportsman, that in my opioion is a bit soft, engine wise. Have aquired a 800, that suffered a wrist pin failure and destroyed the rod and a piece as big as your hand out the bottom of the block. my thinking is that the crank will be ok, and maybe the head, structurally any way, and would like to make these parts work together with the 600 to build a stroker maybe?
My question is, has anyone looked into this? Or maybe tried something similar? Would it be cheaper, but infinatlly less fun to just buy a bigger bike? Have built "Frankenstein" 1.6 liter honda engines, so maybe this same thinking can apply. Given the number of different cc engines in the series, maybe there's something there?
Anyone sound off, even about different brand experience, there should be something here
