2000 ols intrique headlights dimming and heater fan slowing while driving. only does it when its cold outside. i believe its the regulator in the alt. seems like it was a common issue with these cars. any other ideas? also is there anyone who rebuilds these reasonably or that i could get a kit to do it myself in edmonton? seems kinda steep to replace the whole unit when its just the regulator and a new alt. is over 300.00 bucks. thats abot 6 sled tanks full of fuel when you add in the taxes.any ideas would be great.

doesn't make sense to me either the big high output ones for trucks are sometimes less than half the price of the auto ones.
