New Server Coming soon

Hello, Over the next 10 days SnowandMud.com will be moving to a brand new server with new drives and memory. Tonight or Tommorow the site will be offline for about 1 hr sometime, they will be moving it to a different server temporarily, then within 10 days it will be down again for about 1 hour while they move onto another server. The server we have now is having some issues and corrupted the hard drive the other night, the issues are not the system but memory issues. With all the increased traffic and all the pictures on here we have ran into some memory issues and then it loads the server up and sometimes all the information doesn't end up at the hardrive in one piece.
The webhost is going to move it to another server that will take 8G ram, for now. Then they will build the new server, which will have double the ram and a quad core CPU and double the size hard drives. This will be ready in a week and you will notice the change. That has been our biggest issue over the last few weeks.

Another thing you may want to look at is the level of RAID you have it running on as it too will drain alot of memory. Especially if your running 2k3 server.... just my

We are Linux based, and I think the drives are mirrored anyway, that helped the other day.

Thanks, self taught, I used to build computers for people from scratch, but no time anymore. And this internet thing, Im just figuring it out.
