Good morning all, I am happy to finally be a member of this forum.I have recently moved from southern ont to alberta and I am looking forward to all the mountain sledding info I can read .My interests are moto x, atv, and most of all sleds. This winter was the first time in 17 years I did not throw a leg over a sled,so I ordered a 2017 summit x 154 with a 2.5" track (figured I would start off conservatively) never again to miss out on another sledding season.

Welcome to S&M. Tex has made a good point; avalanche training in the fall and/or early season. Don't settle for anything less than an AST 1. Several providers work the Edmonton area and here is a link to one of the best:

It will be a start and you can keep looking and researching to have dates/places in your favour.
