Need to repair chain/chaincase - is it worth getting 2nd hand one

I got a few repairs to make this autumn. One of them being (I believe) a new chain/chaincase. Is this something that I should buy brand new or is it worth trying for a second hand one first. ie, do you guys think price difference is worth the risk of a used part(s).

Nothing wrong with a used chaincase however I would get a new chain,make sure the case has no chips out of it or cracks and your good to go!

I second the motion.. lol extra money on the chain... dont skimp out. They break in the worst places.

im happy with mine after i broke 2 chains in mine

if u need chaincase i have 2 sitting arround here

pm me if interested might safe ya a few bucks before u buy new

Cool thanks for the replies. Still gotta find some time to pull it all apart but we are 90% sure its the chain that broke.
