need help with installation of racepak avenger III

i have 07 rev Adreneline 800r .... i just pick a used avenger III... there is just black and red wire off the back one is engine block ground black and they say to hook up red to lighting coil... can some enlighten me which is the lighting coil wire thanks

some one must know what they are talking about when the say "lighting coil" i have looked in the repair manual and i can not find anything on lighting coil

plug the red wire into the accessory outlet. red wire with a black wire. it just requires a circuit that the voltage is effected by the throttle position. by using the engine block and the accessory you create this.

you wouldnt happen to have a pic which would show me the wire ... i can not find the wire tired where the avenger1 was hooked up but it had tree wires ground, power, rpm.... then i tried the red/black wire off the regulator

thats the best pic i could find., it should be a red and a black wire together.

thanks for the wire diagram will have to see where i pluged into if it is the same .... but still no tach..... i am getting power took out the batteries and it turned on and egts work but no tach

do you have the ground attached to the head,jug or exhaust manifold thats where my digitron gets the rpm from.

yup ... ground is hooked up to the head

try hooking the negative to the negative accessory. it will get rpm from there too. even though it says not to. hha

Thanks for your help Maxwell I got it there is three wirers 2yellow and green they are located right above the regulator needed to hook up to one of the yellow ones

yellow is usually heavier guage from the lighting/coil system. that works.

suprised you werent getting a signal from the block or negative wire though.

is it accurate to your tach?
