Now this area is a sledders paradise, There is snow and lots of it here. The trails are groomed, {some daily}, I spent the past week in the area, stayed around Baysville, to see a sled go past as you are looking out the Windigo window is normal. Everyone is so friendly, There is a fee to ride in the area so dont forget to check with the locals. And happy ridding. Welcome all new members from the area.

Used to live in that area (Gravenhurst..built the Muskoka Sands townhouses on the lake) and fishing is big in the summer. Endless trails to sled in the winter.

Seen your post and you said that you where in the Baysville area. Did you stop at a bar called the Pavillon and leave a Business Card for Snow and Mud? That is how I found this site from the card. I have a cottage in this area and have been snow and mud riding here for over 30 years.

When does the season typically open in the Muskoka area? Do they get alot of lake effect snow in the area?

Season starts in Jan some times at xmas it depends on the freeze up, most of the trails have lake crossings and lots of lake effect snow. The trails are great you can go right across Ont into Quebec.

The trail system in this part of Ontario is pretty good. They groom several times per week. The trails are even better in Quebec.

Been thinking about going to Quebec for some time now and have heard a lot about how good the trails are there.

The trails are great in Quebec. Alot of there trails are One Way and they are groomed several times per week. The cost of a trail pass is about the same as Ontario, you can also buy day passes for ~$20.

They are crazy about their motor sports in Quebec. They also have a excellent motocross racing circuit and they have a completely seperate trail system for (4) wheelers that is maintained year round...
