Well, I just installed these 1" offset spindles on my '13 RMK Assault. They are made by Mountain Side Products (https://mtnsideproducts.com/) out of New Hampshire. They are a very nice product. Fit and finish are top notch. The guys were great to deal with. The spindles they offer are available in black and natural finish (I opted for natural and they are damn near polished finish!). They make them for the Pro RMK and the Axys RMK. They came with oil-lite bushings already installed as well. This was great, as my old plastic spindle bushings were shot.
Now, I don't know if they are going to make a big difference for me, however I thought I would give them a try over A-arms and new shocks. You see, on the Assault, the front end is 2.5" wider than the regular Pros. To put a 39" or 36" Zbros A-arm kit on, I would also have to change the shocks, because they are longer than on a Pro. So, after I talked to a couple reputable shops here in Edmonton, I feel that the spindles are a much cheaper alternative.
Why put a regular Pro shock on and lose the benefits of the WE clickers on my sled? Kind of a downgrade in the shock department. So, upgrade the shocks, right? Well, after exchange, shipping, duty and taxes, for the 39" A-arms, and comparable or better shocks to what I am running now, it would be close to $2000 Cdn. All in on the spindles, I came in at $460! It was either that or, upgrade to a Pro or Axys, which isn't really a viable option at this time.
Now for the good part. The spindles are to narrow the front end by 2". Factory specs say my center to center with the skis in the neutral position is 41.5". On the narrow setting, it is 40.5". Well, with the sled on the lift, the A-arms drooping and hanging in the air, I couldn't measure properly. But now that the skid is back in, and it's on the floor, I measured 38.5" center to center! Woohoo! That's 44.5" outside to outside.
If anyone is looking for offset spindles, I would recommend calling the fellas at Mountain Side Products! https://mtnsideproducts.com/
