ive been thinking for the last few weeks about getting a new machine, one thats alittle more setup for the kind of riding i like to do. mostly deep snow and some light climbing. but then i realized that i dont owe anything on my current machine, 2004 summit x 800 144", so i could spend some coin on it and not have to make payments for the next 5 years. what are your thoughts? It currently has a light weight hood, a no name pipe and can (too loud), 9" risers, steering column moved forward, and the oil injection is gone.

i was thinking that i should put a longer track on it, some vents, upgrade the skis, add running board stiffeners, and paint the tunnel. thanks for any input.

I would say... if you have that kind of money to put into the old iron, why not sell the older sled and put the cash into newer iron. These newer moutain sleds that are out there are far superior, if that's the riding style your into !
